During the 17th and 18th century, Dianthus - "divine flower" - was a symbol for the human and divine love, an allegory of the ephemeral and fugacious. Thus, music blossoms as a sensory art, only to fade in the following instant. Yet still, for one moment, the course of time seems to be suspended for the musicians and audience alike. With our ensemble, we perform music from the 18th century which remained unheard for a long time. Our search for the aesthetics of this period is inextricably linked with the joy and energy that comes from rekindling this music. Its emotional content is, in our eyes, best transmitted in its own musical language - especially for today's audiences.
With this desire we united on the initiative of our Spanish harpsichordist Maria Busqué in 2011. We received our training in renowned institutes of Eary Music, such as Cologne, Frankfurt, Brussels, Den Haag, Basel and the University of the Arts Berlin. 2012 we were proud to be appointed "Rheinsberger Hofkapelle" and be ensemble in residence for Rheinsberg Castle and Musikakademie. Guest performances brought us to Musikfesttage and der Oder, Festival der Künste Mirow, Friedenauer Kammerkonzerte and Barcelona. In 2015, among other engagements, we will be presenting two new programmes "Son & Lumière" and "Lateral thinkers". We look forward to a new exciting season full of music and inspiration!
